Jfashion Brands 101!

 Hi Cuties!! 💕

Welcome back to my blog!

I often get asked about what Jfashion brands I recommend, so I decided to put together a list of all my faves, (links included) just for you!

I tried to break everything up into categories to make finding what you need as easy as possible!

This is part one, and does not cover all brands, only my current favorites!

First, let's talk sizing. Japanese brands are definitely known for their small sizing, and I won't lie, many of these brands have that same issue.

Because sizing is something that can determine whether or not someone can even wear a garment, I think it's important to start us off with

Size inclusivity

I definitely think DearMyLove will take the number one spot, easily.

DearMyLove has a specified branch called DearMyLove Whip, that is only for plus sizes. The clothing on Whip are EXACT matches to the standard sizing, which is so nice, because if you see something you like, you know you can find it in your size, without fear of them cutting open the shoulders or making it frumpy. DearMyLove is always proving that it's possible for anyone to enjoy Jfashion.

Another brand I see consistently producing size inclusive clothing is Vina of the Valley. This Tokyo based brand isn't necessarily just Jfashion, but it still has a place on this list. Vina of the Valley makes beautiful, ethically made clothing for a variety of sizes. Inspired by classic Harajuku Styles, I think this brand is a perfect example of elegance for everyone.

ACDC RAG has recently announced they are adding larger sizes to their designs! We love to see a brand grow and add more inclusivity!! I'm excited to see what this iconic Harajuku brand does next!

Though the amount of size inclusive brands is limited, I have hopes that one day, all of these brands will offer more size options (Lets be real, ANYTHING is better than FREE SIZE)

Something else that is always important when picking clothes is STYLE. I added some of my fav brands and what styles they offer!

(Hint: click the brand names ↓ to visit their website!)

Liz Lisa- LL is a household Jfashion name, everyone knows her, she is so popular. And with good reason! Offering high quality, iconic, and uniquely recognizable clothing, it's no wonder LL is a world famous. You have definitely seen at least one LL in your lifetime if you have ever even looked at Gyaru, Jirai Kei or Ryosangata!

DearMyLove- DML has way more to offer than just sizing variation. This brand covers most fashion niches, including Ryosangata, Jirai Kei, Tenshi Kaiwai, Punk, Street Wear, and even some Lolita! Truly a brand with options!! Another thing to note is price! DML is a very affordable brand with sales nearly everyday!

Vina Of The Valley- Talk about a brand that truly brings STYLE to the table! Their designs are an exceptional blend of balletcore, Harajuku, and refined grace. Serving pure fashion to every customer, Vina sincerely delivers a clothing experience like no one else. I am always eagerly waiting to see her creative, unique designs!

Ank Rouge- Another brand you can't skip when talking about jfashion is Ank Rouge! Known for their sweet, girly style, they are a true staple for Ryosangata, Jirai Kei, and Gyaru, but they have even more to offer! Personally, I think Ank Rouge has some of the prettiest pastels!

BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT- Now THIS is a classic name right here! Anyone who's interested in Lolita fashion knows her name, she's THE It Girl! Classic, Sweet, Gothic, any and all Lolita subcultures can be found at BabyTSSB. You can always expect exemplary quality and peak cuteness from this classic brand!

ACDC RAG- If you've visited Harajuku, you've probably been to at least one of the ACDC RAG shops! Known for their phrase "No Borders", ACDC RAG is a leader in showing the world that fashion is for everyone. Designing for several different subcultures, there's something here for everyone. Visiting their shops is always a highlight of my Tokyo trips!

MUMU- An up and coming brand from Tokyo, focusing on a few different subcultures, stands out to me for their Tenshi Kaiwai collection. With international shipping, pop up events, and creative designers, MUMU is a huge reason Tenshi is being shared and popularized! I am eagerly waiting for their new designs!

That will be where I leave it off this time, and maybe I'll make a part two with a handful of other brands, if you're interested! 💗

Thank you so much for reading my blog!! I hope you enjoyed it, and maybe even discovered a new place to shop!

Fashionably yours,

-Pookie
